Hang around Portugal

Portugal is located on the extreme southwest of Europe bordered by Spain and the Atlantic Ocean.

 

Despite its small geographical size, 89,015 km² and 1230km of coastline Portugal features a wide variety of landscapes and Mediterranean climate. The north is characterized by mountains where green is abundant, registering on average lower temperatures and higher humidity. The south is characterized by plains with sporadic hills, the weather is drier and warmer, reaching 40°C mostly during the months of July and August.

Portugal’s welcoming environment, history, culture, gastronomy, the magnificent coastline and friendly people are the key attributes of the country. More specifically, in Portugal you can expect to encounter enchanting historical monuments, several fascinating sites, fine traditional restaurants where you can taste the exquisite local cuisine, together with some of the best European wines. Day and night entertainment, as well as, diverse types of activities can also be taken for granted.

 

Oporto, Cultural Capital in 2001 and the main city in the north, is a city full of history and animation. The famous Port wine has also its home in this picturesque part of the country, as well as, some other famous delicacies that Portugal can pride itself for. 

 

Lisbon, the country’s capital city, is considered one of the top ten cities in the world. Located in the south center, mostly attracts people interested in its history, architectural heritage, nightlife and beaches, as well as, water sports. 

 

Down south, Algarve is probably the most touristic region of Portugal. The warm weather, white sandy beaches with cool water temperatures and several golf courses are the main reasons that lead thousands of people to choose this destination to spend their holidays.
